Captain Kurtz was once a hero of the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War, known for his remarkable achievements. However, one day he mysteriously disappeared. Subsequently, intelligence reports indicated that he had founded his own kingdom in Cambodia, complete with his own army, dedicated to opposing the U.S. military. Willard, accompanied by several soldiers, journeys up the river, witnessing various atrocities and killings along the way, observing the psychological distortions suffered by both American soldiers and locals due to the long-lasting conflict, leading him to feel immense shock. Ultimately, Willard is captured by locals in Kurtz's kingdom and meets Kurtz himself. However, Kurtz expresses a desire to die and asks Willard to raze the place to the ground...
